Greg C. Brown Announces New Instrumental Rock Album “Solar Winds” – Out August 29, 2025

Acclaimed American performer, composer, and recording artist Greg C. Brown returns with his latest solo release, Solar Winds , an instrumental rock/metal record arriving August 29, 2025 . Known for his virtuosic guitar work and expressive compositions, Brown once again pushes the boundaries of instrumental music with soaring melodies, technical firepower, and atmospheric soundscapes.

With over 25 releases to his name across solo work and collaborations, Brown has built a reputation as both a creative force and a dedicated educator. His most recent release, GCB (Soman Records), expanded his audience further, and Solar Winds continues that momentum with a record tailor-made for fans of Jeff Loomis, Joe Satriani, and Steve Vai .

Solar Winds was recorded, mixed, and mastered at Red Amp Studios , with the exception of “Shadows in the Dark,” which was recorded at the Vermont College of Fine Arts , where Brown earned his Master’s in Music Composition (2022) . The new album demonstrates his ability to blend precision with passion, offering listeners a cosmic journey through progressive instrumental landscapes.

Beyond the studio, Greg C. Brown has performed extensively across the US, Canada, Japan, and Europe , and his work continues to reach listeners worldwide through both satellite and traditional radio. As a long-standing figure in the guitar community, Brown has taught professionally for over 25 years , including positions at Mary Baldwin University and currently as the head of the guitar department at Bridgewater College, VA .
