CDN Records Welcomes Mental Anguish – Western New York Grindcore at Its Most Relentless

Niagara Falls/Buffalo, NY – CDN Records is proud to announce the addition of Mental Anguish , a new grindcore unit emerging from the gritty borderlands of Niagara Falls and Buffalo, New York. Comprised of veteran heavy hitters from regional stalwarts like Immortal Terror, Grotesque Infection, Eternal Torment, Arsenic Disposal, and Anthropic , Mental Anguish fuses decades of underground experience into a fresh, ferocious assault on extremity.

The four-piece lineup features:

Chris Hull – guttural, barking vocals

Carl Pace – razor-sharp guitar riffs

Russ Martin – thunderous bass foundations

Jim Santillo – relentless percussive punishment

Mental Anguish thrives on speed, brevity, and intensity, delivering songs that strike with surgical precision while leaving chaos in their wake. Their sound honors grindcore’s foundational fury while adding a dark, death metal edge that sets them apart.

In 2024, the band unveiled Demo ’24 , a five-track maelstrom recorded at Watchmen Studios , featuring standout tracks like “Construct of Fear,” “Perilous Grasp,” and “Whore of Babylon.” Clocking in under two minutes per track, Demo ’24 is a concentrated manifesto of grindcore violence: unpolished, uncompromising, and devastatingly effective.

More than music, Mental Anguish embodies the ethos of the Niagara/Buffalo extreme metal underground: DIY resilience, ferocious creativity, and a refusal to bow to trends . Their work continues a regional tradition of pushing extremity to its limits, while honoring the deathgrind pioneers who came before them.
