Central Georgia – Southern horror metal veterans SUGAR VIRUS return from the crypt with a brand-new video, “His Name is Father,” the first sinister glimpse into their upcoming full-length album Kill The Messenger, set to drop October 2, 2025 via Spooky Heaven Records.
Dark, twisted, and dripping with southern doom grit, “His Name is Father” captures everything that defines SUGAR VIRUS — horror-drenched storytelling, heavy-as-hell riffs, and the unmistakable croon of frontman Jason Virus, equal parts Elvis, early Danzig, and Billy Milano.
Originally formed in 1992 under the name The Fiends, SUGAR VIRUS has spent more than three decades evolving their cult-favorite sound — a macabre fusion of horror punk, doom metal, and southern-fried thrash. Their new album Kill The Messenger is a 100% DIY creation, written, produced, engineered, mixed, and mastered by Jason Virus himself.
The band’s current lineup:
Jason Virus – Vocals
Spenser Lewis – Guitar
The Timmy Vancura – Guitar
Joshua Jackson – Bass
Tyler Mathis – Drums
With 11 independent releases and two prior full-length albums under their belts, Kill The Messenger marks the band’s darkest and heaviest chapter yet — echoing their horror roots while digging deeper into doom-laden territory.
Prepare to be infected.
