Legendary rocker Ozzy Osbourne has passed away, and his wife Sharon Osbourne has expressed heartfelt gratitude to fans for their outpouring of support. On September 12, Sharon shared a touching message on Instagram, thanking fans for their “overwhelming love and support” after the death of the BLACK SABBATH frontman.
In her post, Sharon wrote:
"I'm still having trouble finding the words to express how grateful I am for the overwhelming love and support you've shown on social media. Your comments, posts, and tributes have brought me more comfort than you know. None of it has gone unnoticed, in fact, it's carried me through many nights."
The post included a personal video of Sharon and her daughter Kelly enjoying a falconry outing, highlighting their connection with birds of prey. She continued:
"Though I'm still finding my footing, I wanted to share some glorious creatures I had the chance to spend an afternoon with. The connection you make with these powerful birds is built entirely on trust and confidence. They'll choose to perch on you only if they sense you are safe and unafraid of them. It's a bond I know all too well, and the experience was nothing short of magical. I love you all, and I thank you deeply for the otherworldly amount of love you continue to send my way."
Ozzy Osbourne, 76, died on July 22 of a heart attack. According to his death certificate filed in London, he also suffered from coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s disease.
A private funeral service was held on July 31 at the Osbournes’ Buckinghamshire estate, attended by only 110 close friends and family, including BLACK SABBATH bandmates Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward, as well as fellow rock icons Rob Zombie, Zakk Wylde, Marilyn Manson, Corey Taylor, and METALLICA’s Robert Trujillo.
The day before the funeral, thousands of fans gathered in Birmingham, England, to pay tribute to the legendary singer, with Sharon and their children — Aimée, Kelly, and Jack — joining the crowd for the emotional homage.
Just over two months prior to his passing, Ozzy reunited with the original BLACK SABBATH lineup for his final performance at the “Back To The Beginning” charity concert in Birmingham. The show included a solo set featuring classics from Blizzard of Ozz and No More Tears , followed by BLACK SABBATH hits such as “War Pigs,” “Iron Man,” “N.I.B.,” and “Paranoid.”
Seated on a black throne during the performance, Ozzy appeared deeply emotional, telling the crowd: “You have no idea how I feel. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
Sharon Osbourne’s heartfelt message and the continued tributes highlight the profound impact Ozzy had on fans worldwide. His legacy as the Prince of Darkness and a pioneer of heavy metal will endure for generations.
