Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo has expressed his wish for the legendary hard rock band AC/DC to perform at the 2024 Super Bowl halftime show, which is set to be held at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada on February 11, 2024. This suggestion comes as a departure from the norm, considering the Super Bowl halftime shows have traditionally been headlined by pop stars.
The National Football League (NFL), in collaboration with Roc Nation, is currently considering various artists for the halftime show, with rumored contenders including Miley Cyrus, Harry Styles, Bad Bunny, and Jack Harlow. However, Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran have reportedly shown no interest in performing.
“AC/DC!” Lombardo answered, without hesitation, when he was asked whom he wants to see play the Super Bowl, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “I was going to yell it out … But yeah, I’m serious. Bring ’em back.”
Lombardo voiced his opinion during the NFL and Las Vegas Super Bowl LVIII Host Committee press conference, held at the Vū Las Vegas production complex on Wednesday.
Governor Lombardo’s suggestion is currently under consideration, and a final decision is expected to be announced in the coming weeks. Should AC/DC be chosen, their performance would add a new flavor to the Super Bowl’s musical tradition.Via MetalAddicts
