From First Blood to Third Strike: East Ov Eden & Casket Robbery Gear Up for TMDMF 2025

The Tennessee Metal Devastation Music Fest has always been about one thing — the underground refusing to die. This year, two bands at very different points in their fest journey stopped by The Zach Moonshine Show on Metal Devastation Radio to talk about their paths, their sound, and what’s coming when they hit the stage in Jackson: local newcomers East Ov Eden and returning death metal horror veterans Casket Robbery .

East Ov Eden: Rising From the Garage to the Festival Stage

Memphis-based East Ov Eden may be making their first-ever TMDMF appearance, but their story is already one of growth, grit, and sheer underground spirit.

Formed in 2022, the band started as “just a little garage jam group between me and some new found local buddies in northern Mississippi,” they explained. Over time, the lineup shifted and their sound evolved from thrash and hair metal influences into the crushing deathcore/metalcore blend heard on their debut album Boundless .

With a fresh lineup addition in bassist Connor Johnson, they’re ready to bring the chaos live:

“Everything you hear on the album is what you’ll hear on stage. Be ready for it — and make sure you warm up, too.”

Their music draws from MySpace-era influences like Parkway Drive, Suicide Silence, and Whitechapel, while lyrically Boundless takes listeners on a metaphor-heavy journey through demons, vices, and spiritual battles. As they put it:

“It kind of revolves around an interpersonal spiritual journey… a battle between a human and some sort of grand being, looming in on the mortal and trying to bring him back down to reality.”

For East Ov Eden, TMDMF 2025 isn’t just another gig. It’s a hometown proving ground.

Casket Robbery: The Horror Crew Returns for Round Three

On the other side of the spectrum, Wisconsin’s Casket Robbery are no strangers to TMDMF — 2025 will mark their third strike at the fest, and they’re only getting heavier.

Known for their ferocious stage presence and horror-driven death metal, the band has built a rabid following in Jackson.

“Last year there were a lot of people that showed up wearing Casket Robbery shirts… it was amazing. So much love, man.” - Zach Moonshine

The band has been keeping busy with relentless touring and is heading into the studio this fall to record their next album, aiming for an early 2026 release. In true Casket Robbery fashion, they’re also bringing back their fan-favorite merch — including exclusive hoodies for Tennessee, handmade items, and of course, their high-octane Casket Robbery Coffee.

“It’s the closest thing you’re going to get to drinking cocaine… legally.” - Zach Moonshine

On the gear side, Corey broke down his current rig, leaning on digital flexibility with the Helix and Seymour Duncan PowerStage, but keeping things old-school when it comes to stage feel:

“A lot of guys with digital stuff go direct in to the PA. I still have the sound guy mic it up just so we have that kind of old school feel.” - Cory Scheider  (Casket Cory)

The Undying Underground

East Ov Eden are stepping into the TMDMF spotlight for the first time, while Casket Robbery are returning like conquering horror kings. But both bands embody the same underground ethos: community, chaos, and crushing heaviness.

October 11th, 2025 in Jackson, Tennessee — the stage is set. Whether it’s East Ov Eden lighting their first fire or Casket Robbery fanning the flames for the third time, one thing is certain: the underground will be louder than ever.
