Central Georgia — After more than three decades lurking in the shadows of the underground, southern horror metal stalwarts SUGAR VIRUS are back with their third full-length album, Kill the Messenger , dropping October 2, 2025 via Spooky Heaven Records.

Born in 1992 as The Fiends, Sugar Virus has spent 30+ years forging a deadly cocktail of horror punk, doom metal, and southern-fried thrash — a sound that’s equal parts macabre and groove-laden menace. Fronted by founding vocalist Jason Virus , whose snarling baritone blends the dark charisma of Elvis, Glenn Danzig, and Billy Milano, this band ain’t just playing music — they’re casting a spell you won’t forget.

Kill the Messenger is a pure DIY beast, with Jason Virus taking the reins on writing, producing, engineering, mixing, and mastering. The album dives deeper into doom-soaked darkness while staying true to their horror roots, serving riffs and grooves that fans of Danzig, Black Sabbath, and the raw energy of The Ramones will eat up.
