Washington, D.C.’s high-voltage hard rock outfit Never Elected returns with a sun-drenched, rebellious new single, “Summer Snow,” out July 29th on all major streaming platforms.
A playful punch in the face to convention, “Summer Snow” is a sharp detour from the band’s darker, grungier material—embracing a louder, brighter, and more mischievous sound. With infectious riffs, cheeky lyrics, and punk-fueled energy, this track is a full-throttle celebration of defiance, fun, and melting the rules like ice under the July sun.
Never Elected , featuring Sujit Kumar (vocals), Altan Aydin (guitars), Dr. T (bass, production), and Wesley Meyer (drums), blends 80s hard rock swagger with 90s grunge grit. On “Summer Snow,” they add a blast of party-punk attitude, delivering an anthem for misfits and music lovers looking to keep the summer raging well past midnight.
The single’s striking cover art features Santa Claus himself, standing on a beach with a sack of snow in hand, beneath a sign that reads: “Never Elected playing tonight at O’Sho’s.” The iconic O’Shaughnessy’s in Old Town Alexandria—long considered the band’s spiritual home—will host an informal watch party to coincide with the YouTube Live Video Premiere at 8 PM EST on Tuesday, July 31st .
