PATRIARCHS IN BLACK Unleash First Single “The Call” from Forthcoming Album Home
New Album Out August 15th via Metalville Records

PATRIARCHS IN BLACK have returned with a thunderous first taste of their upcoming studio album Home , dropping August 15th on Metalville. The newly released single, “The Call,” showcases the band’s signature fusion of doomy heaviness and raw melody, with a powerhouse lineup behind it. Watch the official video here: YouTube - The Call .

Founding guitarist Dan Lorenzo (Hades/Non-Fiction) recounts the song’s origins:

“Last summer I was driving in my car and a riff popped into my head. I got home, ran to my loft, and figured it out. Johnny Kelly recorded the drums, and I asked John JD Deservio from Black Label Society to play bass. I had a melody, but Karl Agell (COC Blind) asked for some time—and what he delivered was more than worth the wait. We’re proud ‘The Call’ is our first single for the new album.”

A Supergroup of Doom and Diversity
PATRIARCHS IN BLACK—helmed by former Type O Negative/Danzig drummer Johnny Kelly and riff architect Dan Lorenzo—formed in late 2021. Their prolific output began with the debut single “Demon of Regret” in early 2022, quickly followed by the full-length Reach For The Scars (July 2022), My Veneration (October 2023), and Visioning (July 2024). Now, with their fourth album Home , the duo is pushing even further into bold sonic territory.

“Did you ever see the movie Groundhog Day ? Same thing over and over—it’s boring,” says Lorenzo. “I love pizza, but not every meal. So this time we experimented—acoustic guitars, violin, flute—alongside our usual heavy riffs. The title Home felt right, because no matter how far we travel musically or physically, there’s always comfort in coming home.”

The album is also tinged with personal meaning. Johnny Kelly’s mother passed away last year, and as Lorenzo notes, “Some would say the Lord took her Home .”

Loaded With Guest Talent
Home features a stunning list of collaborators, with vocalists and bassists from across the heavy music spectrum:

Karl Agell (COC Blind), John "JD" DeServio (Black Label Society), Kyle Thomas (Exhorder), Mark Sunshine, DMC (Run-DMC), John Kosco (Dropbox), Dewey Bragg (Kill Devil Hill), Kelly Abe, Joe Ferrara, Frankie Diaz, Rob Traynor, And many more, including instrumental contributions from violinist Emma Smoler and flautist Sarah Sovak.
