Elegeion Unveils Epic Music Video for "Sombre Skies," Setting Record as the Longest Song Put To A Multi-Location Cinematic Music Video Ever!

Melbourne, Australia – After a triumphant return from a 17-year hiatus, Gothic Doom Metal legends Elegeion have once again captivated the metal world with the release of their monumental music video for "Sombre Skies." Known for their haunting blend of Gothic Doom and Depressive Suicidal Black Metal (DSBM), Elegeion has set a new standard with this video—now officially released—becoming the longest multi-location doom metal video ever produced, running an epic 14 minutes and 15 seconds.

"Sombre Skies" is a visual and sonic masterpiece, filmed across nine distinct locations over two years, and it perfectly complements the depth and intricacy of their 2022 album, Plight of the Heretic. The video, available now, is a testament to the band's artistic ambition and their ability to evoke deep emotions through both music and film.

Formed in 1995 by frontman Anthony Kwan, Elegeion quickly gained international recognition with their unique sound—a melancholic blend of doom-laden guitars, classical string elements, and a mix of male and female vocals. After their breakthrough debut Through the Eyes of Regret in 2000 and the 2005 follow-up The Last Moment, the band went on hiatus, only to return stronger than ever in 2022.

The band's comeback album Plight of the Heretic was met with acclaim, reigniting their global fanbase and securing thousands of views on YouTube. The success of their music video for "The Blazing Tempest" further solidified their resurgence in the metal scene. In 2023, Elegeion also returned to the live stage, supporting international acts like Japan’s Sigh and the UK’s Esoteric.

With "Sombre Skies" now out, the band continues to push boundaries within the Gothic Doom genre. The release marks another milestone for Elegeion, and fans can expect even more as the band prepares to enter the studio later this year to record new material.

Watch the groundbreaking "Sombre Skies" video now and experience the melancholic journey for yourself.

For fans of: Katatonia, My Dying Bride, Draconian, and anyone who revels in the atmospheric depths of Gothic Doom and DSBM.
