Formed in 2015 and featuring members from the Metal Blade act Cloak, Burial Oath is a formidable force in the USBM (U.S. Black Metal) scene. Known for their modern twist on second wave black metal, the band has been capturing the hearts of black metal fans with their aggressive yet melodic sound.

After a brief hiatus in 2023, with Jesse Greenfeather joining Cloak on drums and Mor Grish becoming the new vocalist, Burial Oath is making a major comeback. Their latest single, "Pagan Fires," premiered exclusively through Decibel Magazine, showcases their signature blend of traditional black metal with contemporary influences. The single is a must-listen for fans of Spectral Wound, MGLA, and Sargeist.

Grish reflects on joining the band: "Even though I’m new to Burial Oath, it feels like we’ve been doing this for years. It’s great to be with like-minded and similarly passionate people."
