Blackhearth Announces Release of New Prog Metal EP "Feast Of The Savages"
Progressive heavy metal enthusiasts, get ready for a monumental musical experience as Blackhearth, the esteemed melodic heavy metal band from Durango, announces the release of their highly anticipated new EP, "Feast Of The Savages," available on all platforms on May 29th, 2024.
Blackhearth, known for their melodic yet heavy sound that draws comparisons to bands like Savatage, Black Sabbath, Mercyful Fate, Judas Priest, and Queensrÿche, has been a dominant force in the metal scene since their formation in 2010. The band's driving force, Alex Hernández (Lead & Rhythm Guitar) and Asier Larrea (Drums), have continually pushed the boundaries of their genre, captivating fans with their intricate compositions and powerful performances.
Their journey began with the recording of their debut album, "Blackhearth," during the harsh Basque winter of 2018/2019 at Tio Pete Estudio and Auryn Studios. Mixed and mastered by Tristán Iñiguez at Auryn Studios, the album's success secured them a record deal with Sliptrick Records in August 2019, leading to impressive sales and critical acclaim.
Following their debut, Blackhearth embarked on a new chapter with their second album, "The Wrath Of God," recorded in July 2021 at Chromaticity Studios and produced by Pedro Monge. This album featured the remarkable guest vocalist Tim Owens (Judas Priest, Iced Earth, Beyond Fear, Yngwie Malmsteen), adding a legendary touch to their powerful sound.
In late 2023, after a brief hiatus, Alex Hernández and Asier Larrea reunited to craft new songs, once again teaming up with producer Pedro Monge. The result is their latest EP, "Feast Of The Savages," recorded at Chromaticity Studios in Asua (Bizkaia). This EP features guest appearances from Alberto Rionda, the legendary guitarist from Spanish metal band Avalanch, and Carlos Escudero from Vhäldemar, who lends his voice as the narrator
