Backward Blue Unleashes Heavy Progressive EP "Eye of the Storm"

Backward Blue, the Atlanta-based heavy progressive band, is set to release their highly anticipated EP titled "Eye of the Storm" on May 24, 2024. This new EP marks a significant milestone for the band as they continue to carve their niche in the music scene.

"Eye of the Storm" features two powerful singles that showcase Backward Blue's distinctive sound and musical prowess. The first single, "We're in This Together," is a riveting cover of Nine Inch Nails' classic track, featuring acclaimed guitarist Zach Myers of Shinedown. The second single, "Eye of the Storm," delivers a relentless sonic assault that captivates listeners from start to finish.

Formed in 2020 by guitarist Matt Bailey and drummer Raegan Wexler, Backward Blue made waves with their debut album, "By the Time You Listen to This I'll Be Dead," released in 2022. This concept album delved into themes of struggle, redemption, and the journey towards finding hope in the face of adversity.

For "Eye of the Storm," Backward Blue enlisted the talents of vocalist Jamie Wiltshire from Cambridge, UK, whose dynamic vocals add depth and emotion to the EP's narrative. With a decidedly heavier sound compared to their previous release, "Eye of the Storm" is crafted to ignite the stage and leave audiences spellbound.

The EP also features guest appearances by renowned musicians, including Tim Stewart (Lady Gaga, Rihanna) on lead guitar for the track "Bull Hate." Additionally, the music video for "We're in This Together" offers a thought-provoking exploration of societal tensions, directed by Indonesian filmmaker Doni Bacox.

Produced by the band and mastered by Troy Glessner (Disturbed, Devin Townsend), "Eye of the Storm" showcases Backward Blue's commitment to pushing boundaries and delivering raw, uncompromising music.

Guitarist Matt Bailey, a combat veteran and Bronze Star recipient for his actions in Afghanistan, brings a unique perspective to the band's lyrical content, while drummer Raegan Wexler's extensive experience in sound production for films lends a professional edge to their recordings.

"Eye of the Storm" is the second installment in a trilogy of releases planned by Backward Blue. With this EP, the band invites listeners to join them on a journey from darkness to light, exploring the complexities of the human experience along the way.
