MURDERHORDE SIGNS WORLDWIDE DEAL WITH EXTREME MANAGEMENT GROUP

Extreme Management Group (EMG), home to bands like Suffocation, Atheist, Rings of Saturn, and more, has announced their partnership with Death Metal band MURDERHORDE.

MURDERHORDE can be found in the seemingly unimaginable space where progressive structuring, atypical death metal riffs, blistering yet precise jazz percussion and an undeniably hardcore vocal presence intersect. Founded in 2021 as an expressive outlet by bassist Mike Belasco, MURDERHORDE borrowed it's name from a fictional troupe of murderous warriors known as Khornate Berserkers, whose "sole purpose in life is to destroy their enemies in the name of the Blood God and take life in the most brutal and barbaric fashion imaginable"-something Belasco aimed to emulate through the music. MURDERHORDE emerged onto the rapidly growing underground metal scene in Coastal Virginia with debut EP, 'Ritual', and was shortly thereafter rounded out with the addition of vocalist Chase Ellis, followed by guitarists Ben Keckley and Riley Barringer, and drummer Kevin Garcia.

The EP, originally composed by Belasco, explored lyrical themes of deceit, corruption and a distrust for authority, the backdrop being a variety of musical styles. From the jagged and labyrinthine bursts of 'Connection Severed' to the brooding and melancholic pummeling atmosphere presented in 'Memento Mori' to the thrash inspired and groove infused opener 'Intrepid Decay', one thing to be expected of MURDERHORDE is absolute ferocity.

Metalnoise.net reviewed 'Ritual' upon release with such praise as "The path to all out destruction is marked by the trail of the dead by the time mid EP offering ‘Connection Severed' hits, it's swirling, turbulent riffs with staccato moments marking the territory in blood." calling the release "a nightmarish vision in black, the sound of the waves crashing on a rocky cliff face during a storm in the depths of the blackest of nights" and rating the EP an 8/10.

In a world oversaturated by countless acts droning along to the trends set before them, MURDERHORDE dares to lay against the grain. This is more present than ever in the band's latest offering, a single titled 'The Dissident'. Showcasing the talents of the full band the single boasts Garcia's signature rhythmic complexity paired with the blackened influence of Keckley and Barringer's lightning fast tremolo picking and capped off with an elegant and tasteful solo performed by the latter. The lyrics for 'The Dissident' were inspired by the myth of creation from J.R.R. Tolkien's The Silmarillion, placing the listener in the mind of one who challenges the intent of God himself- showing Ellis and Belasco's love for epic high fantasy.

MURDERHORDE has no plans of slowing down anytime soon, with a new single out now on Metal Injection (below) and a full length album in the works. MURDERHORDE will continue to deliver perplexing, ravenous and thought provoking material for the foreseeable future.
