However, the sounds speak a clear language, because RISING ALMA have delivered a really great album here. RISING ALMA moves somewhere between post-rock and alternative rock on "Awake". Impetuous energy, tender moments, aggressive outbursts and psychedelic melodies - RISING ALMA prepare the listener for a refreshing, rousing roller coaster ride of emotions and fill it with a rich stream. And the energy flows abundantly. "Sail away" and "Wolves" are grenades with an impact detonator, you don't have to wait for it to unfold here, but are immediately pushed into the adrenaline zone with a fat, rough sound and driving riffs. At some points "Awake" also has a slightly dark flair, similar to the cover. Here the opener and title track should be mentioned,

But the atmosphere is also a bit lighter, in pieces like "The empty heart" there is always a relaxed indie feeling. The freestyle with combination can be found in "Closer" and "The story is not over", in which RISING ALMA are in top form. Just "Over again" with its sad melody and the fragile female voice... that's what records are made for. No rest, no despondency, no empty spaces on the paper. It's simply wonderful when music spirals into your head as easily as it does on "Awake". When the record ends with "The story is not over", it's almost a bit of a shame that the trip is over so quickly. Therefore: switch on rotation.
