      When death metal is spliced together with grindcore, it brings about all the thoughts of a flea having an epileptic fit with how fast and jumpy it is going to be. Alternatively, is it going to suffocate the listener with its oppressive sound? One band who have been playing this sound are Psionic Madness who have released their sophomore album ‘Rotting Dominion’.

                Formed from members of Acausal Intrusion and Out of the Mouth of Graves amongst many, many others, it is hardly surprising that with ‘Rotting Dominion’, Psionic Madness deliver a painting made up of many different colours and shades. For those who like their music raw, ‘Rotting Dominion’ up there, this is very DIY and so raw it is still wriggling with a production arguably little better than demo quality, but it does play into the hands of Psionic Madness. This production keeps it very real, as the guitars and drums hark back to the genres primal days whilst the vocals remain thoroughly guttural throughout. Yet, this isn’t all bashy bashy throughout, dig beneath this and the listener will find progressive nuances that give this album a certain je ne sais quoi which is often lacking in these types of releases.

                ‘Rotting Dominion’ is filthy, it is chaotic, and it is good. It is unyielding and uncompromising, and it plays its role brilliantly. Therefore, anyone looking for some good death metal/grindcore should check this album out now. Metal Digest

Featuring the same supergroup trio as "Mortaility Salience" (Jared, Nicholas and Justin.) This is by far their best offering yet in all 3 of their massive, long running discographies: The result of 3 multi-instrumentalists coming together to play to their main strengths (Jared: Drums, Nicholas: Guitars and Justin: Vocals.)

Musically it is Dissonant Death Metal, Death Grind and Progressive blended into one creating an Extreme Metal Showcase as a whole. Lyrically it is inspired by the horrors of a post-apocalyptic wasteland, the aftermath effects of a global nuclear war and how humanity would go from there.
