First active between the second half of the 1990s and the first decade of the new century, the American Disinter had been "missing" for some time. The last album of the Chicago band dates back to 2014 with "Designed by the Devil, Powered by the Dead" (Desecrated Productions), the first and only unreleased from the 2013 reunion until today, with the release of the sixth studio album " Breaker of Bones" via Pest Records, with an EP and three collections in the meantime from 2016 to January of this year. Ten tracks for a little more than 35 minutes of naked and raw US Death Metal: we can thus summarize "Breaker of Bones" in minimal terms; at a first cursory listening it is possible to find some affinities with Cannibal Corpse (more than the last period) and with Broken Hope, but the more seasoned with some more careful listening will find different assonances with Baphomet and Morta Skuld above all. In any case, a somewhat classic Death Metal that focuses above all on a very tough impact and a marked speed of execution, although the Disinters show that they know how to "downshift" with good groovy passages (see the neck-breaking ones of "Assertation of Belief "). But as can be heard along the entire tracklist, it really seems that, as mentioned, ours are more at ease when the engine revs up and can launch themselves at breakneck speed between cascades of riffs and an aggressive rhythmic section - and at in this regard, the performance of the drummer Max Colunga was very good -. Without us going around much, "Breaker of Bones" by Disinter is the classic record that will be able to give pleasant entertainment to those who want to listen to an unpretentious Death Metal record, which presents itself exactly for what it is without many frills.
