The birth of the project in 2021, immediately an EP ("Charnel Gnosis") and now the first full-length entitled "Tenebrous Oblations" released by the (to us) unknown Adirondack Black Mass: let's talk about the Americans Thaumaturgy, one man band from Kansas which, precisely, debuts over a long distance. KT's proposal - this is the name of the project's mastermind - is a Black/Death with an occult inspiration, full of disturbing atmospheres, dissonances and sinister melodies. Basically, the Incantation are a starting point to begin to enter the desolate lands of which the Thaumaturgy are lords; but it would also be somewhat reductive. Along the six long tracks that make up "Tenebrous Oblations" (of course we don't count the intro "Carrion Depths") an aura of constant menace is always very present, as if a foul beast is crouched ready to emerge from the mist to tear you apart. An analogy that might seem almost exaggerated to most, yet these are the sensations when listening to the wave of violence that springs from the mind of the American musician: his is a Black/Death in which we can also find a certain degree of technique - hence the references to Lvcifyre -, but above all where ours is hard at work with a work of writing and arrangement capable of giving the whole thing that something disturbing that pervades the entire work: take for example the single "Blood of Ageless Serpent" or again "Rites of Uncreation", the latter song perfect photograph of KT's work. More than once the work of Thaumaturgy recalls that of Grave Miasma, and even more that of Malthusian and the clique of Irish sound terrorists belonging to the clique of Invictus Productions, so much so that this record would not have disfigured anything in the catalog of the Dublin label. "Tenebrous Oblations" is a vortex of violence that leaves no way out: once you start listening you are ensnared and Thaumaturgy do not let go until the last notes of "Withered Flesh Effigy".
