With the sheer number of promos which hit the Inbox it’s not surprising that many get a cursory glance, a few tracks allowed entry within the senses, only to be forgotten forever based on the mediocrity on offer. Whereas even more still are ignored completely due to either time constraints or genre description. This promo however caught my attention, much like the barbed end of a harpoon embedded deep within the flesh of an unfortunate sea dwelling creature. The art obviously works well to garner the eyes, the music… well let’s just say it’s Old School DM with a touch of Grave, Vomitory and the like off on the right (or even the left) foot. The production is there, the tone, the tight skin bashing, driving percussion  and a growling which fits like a glove. In essence this is Death draped in menace which isn’t short on either groove or melody. Many attempt the same theme, Lacerated however have pulled it off. I’m eagerly excited for what comes from the camp next for this is well worth it acclaim it receives. - cultmetalflix
