After the successful reunion with the EP " The Hunter " (2020), Incursion are now back with their debut album "Blinding Force". In an interview two years ago, guitarist Maxx Havick answered my questions. In the meantime, new additions to bass and drums have been announced. I loved the EP so I was excited for the album.

INCURSION - FINAL 1The album itself has no intro. This became the beginning of the theme song. "Blinding Force" packed. And here the US boys surprise with classic Black Sabbath epic doom. That's about a minute before the pace picks up. And is unfortunately also the only excursion into this genre. What follows is just as classic, old school heavy metal in the mid-tempo range. Steve Samson shows that he is in good voice, especially in higher vocal passages. “Vengeance” then sounds a bit rawer and heavier, but has the same 80s charm. The song is probably a re-recording of the 1984 demo. In contrast, “Running Out” is more melodic again. A number that spreads many positive vibes and should probably be a highlight live. Plus a great guitar solo. “The Sentinel” starts with heavy riffs. Later the song turns balladesque, especially when the guitars play beautiful melodies. And again a big guitar solo. “The Rites” then picks up speed again. Driving riffing and again a singer who doesn't shy away from the high notes. With the fast banger "Master of Evil" the inclined metal fan can shake his hair. The next mid-tempo stomper follows with “Strike Down”. Big choruses, the singing is accompanied by an outstanding guitar work. A true metal anthem. “Hang Em High” is also from the aforementioned demo. And similar to “Vengeance”, Incursion unleash the raw and wild Metal axe here. "Riot Act" is the Power Metal full service to close the album. “The Rites” then picks up speed again. After "The Hunter" Incursion stepped up a gear with "Blinding Force". My high expectations of this late debut were not disappointed. It's like fine wines, the older the better. It can go on like this. Let's see what the future will bring. - keep-on-rocking

With thunderous glory, Incursion present their full-length album " Blinding Force " on No Remorse Records . Harking back to metal's glory era, the album's nine songs have squarely placed them poised to ride the momentum of their debut EP " The Hunter ".

The band consists of vocalist Steve Samson , guitarists Maxx Havick and Michael Lashinsky , drummer Dan Douchette , and bassist Robbie Crede . Like " The Hunter ", " Blinding Force " was produced by the band and engineer Chris Short ( Alestorm ) and mixed and mastered by Jorg Uken at Soundlodge Recording ( Anvil , Ravager, Slaughter Day ). The artwork was masterfully done by Marcos Miller ( Desaster , Decimator , Mental Horror ).

"Blinding Force" will be released on November 11th, 2022, on CD and LP.
