TheLoopHoleConspiracy - Interviewed By Pete Devine Rock News And Views ! Check it out here at this link: http://petesrocknewsandviews.com/theloopholeconspiracy-interview/
PD: How would you describe yourself or your band as an artist?
Number 54 : I know this sounds too basic. But we really just go with the flow. We don’t generally make plans or schedules. At least when writing because it kills any creativity and inspiration cannot be forced.
So go with the flow type band sounds about right.
anomalae : We are a collective and we defy labels, convention, and genres. If we like it, we play it, if it sounds good we release it. I am constantly creating.
Number 54 is a dad so he handles the core metal heart of loophole. But he has some rug monkeys to raise right. And that is the PRIORITY. So time is limited.
Colicab : They only let me out of my cage to scream
PD: Can you tell us briefly about your background – i.e. where you’re from, how you came to make music, etc.
Number 54 : Currently living in New Jersey. But, grew up in Ohio and Florida. I’ve always wanted to play music. My father was always into playing and eventually started his own business playing events and the whole bar circuit type stuff. But I never really got a chance to actually play until I was about 17. When I was given a bass guitar and that’s when I heard Tool’s Schism. That bassline inspired me to learn. And from there in out I just started playing. So, thanks, Tool.
anomalae : I grew up in NY and moved to Florida in 1994. I discovered metal when a friend heard me playing puff daddy @ 12 ( thanks Shawn ! )Shawn saved me from that timeline.
Fast forward 20 years and now I can safely say I have over 200 concerts and at least 30,000 hours of music under my belt. Number 54 was a friend of my little brother and I had a few bands prior to meeting him. But as it goes and as they say… Once we met… We were and always will be two dudes ( and a monster in a cage ) with a guitar….
The rest is history !
Colicab : They only let me out of my cage to scream.
PD: Who and what inspires you to make music, both in terms of musical and other influences? What do you like to write about in your songs?
Number 54 : These days inspiration comes from experimentation. Sure, I get some influence from other artists. But, in general it’s something that happens on the spot. Or if I’m messing around and hear something I can work with.
I don’t sing or write lyrics. So I’d point that to anomalae.
anomalae : Hands down my inspirations are Deftones/Chino Moreno, American Head Charge, Tool ( prior to Fear Innoculum ), Isis, Breakdown of Sanity, Dillinger Escape Plan, and The Sound of Animals Fighting. I miss Chris Cornell.
I write and create whatever I may be feeling at the moment. It could be dark and brooding, deep and expansive with an introspective twist, or driving and joy filled…. All depends on how I’m feeling.
Colicab:
What does sunlight feel like ?
PD: What are your aspirations as an artist?
Number 54 : When I was younger it was always about the dream of being on stage with a huge crowd and millions of dollars. Fast forward to today, and I really just like playing just to play.
I want people to hear what I’m playing and dare I say enjoy it!
The idea now is to just keep progressing as a band and just see what happens. No Expectations.
anomalae : Help save a life we will never know we helped to save. By creating art that someone who is possibly lost, depressed, or suicidal hears or sees…
Then after experiencing our art realizes they aren’t alone out here and chooses to give one more day a chance. Open for the Deftones.
My aspirations will always be a bit higher then my current reach. But that is where adaptation and evolution meet. Leading to the creation of magnificent.
Colicab : They only let me out of my cage to scream.
PD: What is the proudest moment in your music career so far?
Number 54 : Check back in a few years.
anomalae : Number 54 is modest….
But for TheLoopHoleConspiracy it will be winning our first battle of the bands on Metal Devastation Radio ( Thank you for the Shine Mr Moonshine ! )
And having you be our first interview !
Thank you Pete !
You Rock !
Colicab : Pete if you let me out of my cage. I’ll tell you the mysteries of the universe !
Number 54 : Shut it Colicab !
PD: Promoting one’s music is such a challenge these days, especially with so many new artists emerging from bedrooms in the day of the home studio. How is that going?
Number 54 : Well seeing as we fit into that category I feel like all you can do is throw your music out there and just advertise. Share your music in groups on Facebook, Twitter. Etc.
The market is so over saturated and diverse it’s very hard to stick out and go viral.
All you can do is keep spreading your art!
anomalae : We upload an original holographic music film once a week every week since August 2020.. So I don’t have much time to worry about the small details.
We believe if you don’t cut corners, you create the stuff of dreams on film, and never phone it in…
They will come.
Case in point this interview.
We appreciate you Pete
Colicab : They only let me out of my cage to scream
PD: And how do you book and promote your live shows and tours? Any performances coming up?
Number 54 : Nothing in the works as far as that goes at the moment.
anomalae : We are in the process of designing a full 7d holographic audio and visual live experience.
Similar to this. (
)Once it’s ready the world will be talking about it !
Colicab: What does a hug feel like ?
PD: What do you think about downloading music online? What about streaming sites like Spotify?
Number 54 : I’m not opposed to downloading/streaming music. That’s just how it is these days.
Although, streaming services altogether need to pay artist a fair share. They make millions and somehow an artist makes a fraction of a cent for a stream! Something isn’t right.
But, it’s a necessary evil these days. I don’t know the answer but, something needs to change in the payment aspect of things.

Colicab : They only let me out of my cage to scream.
PD: What song do you wish you’d written and why?
Number 54 : If I had to choose one song, I think I’d go with Bankrupt on selling by Modest Mouse.
It’s raw, it’s real and honest. If you haven’t heard I insist you check it out!
anomalae : Just So You Know by American Head Charge. It is the gamut of human emotion consolidated, laid upon a track and given to the world…
Colicab : Only One ( they only let me listen to Slipknot, Pantera, Lamb of God, Architects and if I stay in my cage The Soundtrack to Teletubbies )
PD: Is there anything you don’t like about the music industry, which you would change if you could?
Number 54 :What I don’t like about the music industry? Mainly greedy record labels and contracts that deliberately trap artists to their label. The music industry for years has been a big cash grab with no morals and greedy people. Most artists just want to make music and be able to make a decent living without being bound to a contract that drains them morally and financially to the point where they have no choice to make music exclusively for that label. It’s terrible. If I could create a law that somehow prohibited certain clauses in contracts that traps artists I’d do that.
anomalae : Number 54 covered it pretty well ..
I’ll add I hate the Nova Twins and the introduction of identity politics or any politics for that matter into Metal. It’s a blasphemy on our genre..
Blabbermouth, Kerrang, Metal injection and all the other now corporate metal publications should be ashamed. lynn Strait and Dimebag are rolling in their graves !
Colicab : I got free and tried bacon once…
It was awesome!
PD: So, what are you working on at the moment?
Number 54 : Nothing in particular, just focusing on making music as it comes to me.
anomalae : Number 54 is quite modest.

Colicab : I ordered a book on lock picking but anomalae found it so now I have a quantum lock around my neck
PD: Where can we learn more about you and buy your music/merch online?
