HEADSPAWN in bombastic interview with JAIRO GUEDZ (The Troops Of Doom, ex-Sepultura)!

One of the greatest revelations of Brazilian Groove Metal, HEADSPAWN, after the release of their successful debut EP "Pretty Ugly People" on all streaming platforms and massively publicizing their new music video "Voices", have started a series of special chats with guests on their official YouTube channel, titled HEADSPAWN LIVES.

One of the first guests was the living legend of national and worldwide metal, the musician Jairo Guedz, current member of The Troops Of Doom, ex-The Mist and ex-Sepultura. In this chat, Jairo Guedz told JP Cordeiro (bass), Alf Cantalice (vocals/guitars) and Marconi Jr. (drums) many curiosities about his beginnings in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, the bands and artists that influenced his life as a musician, crazy antics as a teenager listening to Kiss, his first band Mantas, the way he met Max Cavalera, Iggor Cavalera and Paulo Jr, the 80's metal scene in Minas Gerais, how he joined Sepultura, the famous tape tradings even with renowned international musicians like Chuck Schuldiner (Death) and Jeff Becerra (Possessed), hellish rehearsals, disappointments and difficulties within Rock, etc.

Between the exchange of stories and experiences, Jairo Guedz also commented on new material from his new band, The Troops Of Doom, including the initial idea of having vocalist Shagrath (Dimmu Borgir, Chrome Division) as part of the line-up, his post-Sepultura bands, parallel projects (Metallica Cover Brazil and The Southern Blacklist) and everything about the future possibility of joining Max and Igor once again to re-record  Sepultura's first two releases, "Bestial Devastaion" (EP/1985) and "Morbid Visions" (Album/1986).

Jairo Guedz explains: "With The Troops Of Doom's first and next EP, we've already re-recorded some tracks from my time in Sepultura, but after that, we'll only focus on previously unreleased material. I'd prefer to leave re-recordings aside for now, due to the future possibilty of re-recording the band's first two albums with Max and Iggor. Max Cavalera himself, in some of his recent lives, has talked about his desire to re-record them with me, but our conflicting schedules, for now, have made it impossible."

After these and many other bombastic statements, the musicians from HEADSPAWN also commented on their next career steps which are to record a live show performing "Pretty Ugly People" in it's entirely, to be released on their YouTube channel and the audio on all streaming platforms, starting the process of recording the full album (release scheduled for 2022) and finally, closing details for concert dates in the northeast, southeast and south of Brazil.

More Details:

That the Brazilian northeast has been producing great Rock/Metal bands for the last three decades is no secret or news for anyone, and the power trio from Paraiba HEADSPAWN is a great example of this! "Pretty Ugly People", ther debut EP, was released on all streaming platforms, featuring 4 vigorous copyrighted tracks, covering themes such as schizophrenia, social degeneration and the chaotic national political scene, full of groove, heaviness, energy, melody, harmony and a whole lot of punch with no frills or labels.

Produced, mixed and mastered in a robust and vibrant way by producer Victor Hugo Targino (Cangaco, Forahneo, Omago), their sound furiously and melancholically invokes influences from various renowned bands, such as the power and heaviness of Machine Head and Slipknot, combined with harmonies reminiscing of Alice In Chains and Stone Sour.
