Baleful Litany:  Black Metal invades Central Florida 

 

Baleful Litany is an American Black Metal band from Orlando, Florida, founded by guitarist/vocalist Darnell Colon and drummer Pat Crane in 2015.   

 

With musical influences ranging from Emperor and Dark Funeral to King Diamond and Candlemass, Baleful Litany delivers a sound driven by songwriting and musicality. Each song is carefully written to be unique and different from the next making the listening experience as dynamic and interesting as possible.   

 

The band’s first demo track, entitled “Fane of The Adversary” showcases the ferocious potential of Baleful Litany, and displays a dark, powerful atmosphere that breathes some fresh air into the Central Florida metal scene. 

 

After signing with Bluntface Records, Baleful Litany is set to release their first 5 song CD in the summer of 2018.  Be on the lookout for their first official single coming soon!

Ed Mowery Joins Pontifex on Bass  

 

Former bassist and vocalist for the iconic death metal band Nocturnus and current Guitarist and Vocalist for BFR band Tiwanaku Ed Mowery expands his repertoire and joins Pontifex on bass.    

 

For those that know, Ed (aka “Emo”) Mowery was the vocalist/bassist on Ethereal Tomb, released by Nocturnus in 1999.  He joins Mike Smith, Haniel Adhar, and up-and-coming black metal guitarist Kaleb Daniels for their debut full length CD …From the Pale Mist.  Ed rounds out the rhythm section to produce what could potentially be a ground breaking and potent new sound in black metal.  "I’m honored and excited to join Pontifex!” says Ed. 

 

I ddimu Akhkharu of Abvulabashy named as assistant black metal relations & promotions for BFR  

 

Singapore’s Black Metal veteran Iddimu Akhkharu has jumped on board with BFR to help build the Black Metal Division into a force to be reckoned with.  He is the long time leader of the well respected underground black metal band Abvulabashy, and he brings an added veteran attitude to Bluntface Records.   

 

With Abvulabashy in negotiations with BFR, the label looks to have a devastating Black Metal trifecta that includes Pontifex and the new signing, Baleful Litany.  Make sure you check back often to Bluntface Records on Facebook, because the Pontifex Presale campaign starts soon and I am sure many of us are very intrigued about hearing Ed Mowery play bass and   Mike Smit h (ex- Suffocation ) play drums in a black metal band.
