"A unique and experimental blend of post/spaghetti-western soundtrack, psychedelic rock, drone doom and ambient music. A fantastic EP!"
- Cave Dweller Music

"Drone, prog, doom, western and ambient landscapes are all apt descriptions but simply put, if you enjoy music with weight and an ability to transport you to somewhere that perfectly complements the music, then Cortége should be congratulated for achieving exactly that."
- The Sleeping Shaman

"Post-Western. Spaghetti prog. Desert ambient. Half a decade on, Cortége churns out cinematic mood music befitting a high noon, high stakes Warren Ellis and Nick Cave score."
- The Austin Chronicle

"A slow molasses of towering mood with little otherwise movement, crystal clean sounds, bass levels through the floor and percussion resembling rattlesnake tail shake. Instrumental drone for the fans of Om or Sleep, only with distinct western flavor."
- MetalReviews

"I don’t think you break out the tubular bells unless you’re going for a particular kind of atmosphere, and Chasing Daylight indeed nails that atmosphere."
- The Obelisk

"Cortége make their Desert Records debut with a strong showcase of their elaborate ambient doom sound. Very clever, very unique."
- Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life

"There may be plenty of other acts out there that can claim they come close to what Cortége pulls off here, but you would be hard-pressed to find another name that brings all of these flavors together in the format that Cortége command here, which makes them a unique name whose unique palette of sonic paint cannot be denied."
- Head-Banger Reviews

"In principle, Cortége make the same kind of music as Earth: it crawls forward at a snail's pace, in a strange, tense atmosphere, danger lurking somewhere, definitely, but nothing to be seen."
- Hellfire Magazin

Recorded, mixed and mastered in the fall of 2020 with Jeff Henson (DUEL) at Red Nova Ranch in Austin, Texas, Chasing Daylight is a cinematic, chrome tinged portrait du temps for the end of the world as well as a musical foreshadowing of things to come. Lush arrangements wind through the familiar Cortége territories of drone, prog, doom, western and ambient soundscapes with a few surprises therein, including a guest appearance from Michael St. Claire on brass.
