BLUNTFACE RECORDS IS UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP: Haniel Adhar of Markradonn is the new CEO of Bluntface Records. Label founder and Owner Otto Kinzel IV, the main man behind the critically acclaimed metal-industrial project Skin Drone, has stepped down as the leader of Bluntface Records. Founded in the early 2000s, Blunface Records has developed a reputation for releasing Avant Garde, unique, and off-the-beaten-path, innovative music, which Otto calls “Left of Center” music. Innovation has always been the key to Bluntface, and Otto sought out projects that kept pushing the dial farther and farther away from the norm. This was culminated in 2013 when Otto signed the first Brass Death Metal band in the history of Florida, Markradonn. Markradonn went on to win several awards for their first two EPs, including “Top Discovery” of 2013 by The Metal Gallows (Final Dying Breath) and “Top EP of 2015” by Kingdom Promotions (The Serpentine Deception). It was Otto’s belief in a low budget, start up pilot project that allowed Markradonn to grow and advance, while raising money from fan support to push the band to achieving its goals. It was this partnership between Markradonn and Otto that lead to the transferring of ownership of the label to someone who had the vision, passion, and methodology to continue Otto’s dream to “bring the music industry to its knees” with innovation and integrity. That person to lead the charge now as the new CEO of Bluntface Records is Haniel Adhar, the visionary leader behind Markradonn. This was a natural progression as Haniel always had a dream of running a label that supported underground and independent artists with a personal vision for their musical expression. “I cannot think of anyone else who would be better suited for this job than Haniel. His work ethic and passion are unparalleled”, said Otto. Haniel is dedicated to preserving the essence and the spirit of Bluntface, as established by Otto at its inception. The new Bluntface Records will utilize innovative funding methods to raise much needed capital and revenue for artists. Haniel is an outspoken, voracious supporter of Musician’s Rights and respect for bands, and it was his article several years ago protesting “bigger” bands in the metal scene who treated local bands and less known artists like crap that lead to the highly successful Operation Underground compilation and promotional campaign. He brings that commitment to the table as the new label executive, assuring that bands get the support they need to bring their vision into reality. Bluntface Records was started by Otto to push the envelope of music, and one can only expect the label to get even more extreme under Haniel. New music will include “Extreme Electronic”, “Extreme World Music”, “Innovative Industrial and Noise”, as well as left-of-center death and black metal that have an Avant Garde twist to them. Otto is not going to ride off into the sunset just yet; he will be actively involved in the newly formed Bluntface PR, an innovative Public Relations and promotional division of Bluntface Records that focuses heavily on forming a stronger bond with the fans while seeking out new ravenous fans for the label’s artists. Bluntface PR will work very closely with Haniel and the Bluntface artists to get the music to the right people and the right fans. Current BFR staff member and one-half of Skin Drone Erik Martin will still be on board in an increased role for both BFR and BFPR. Other things the fans can expect from The New Bluntface Records include Bluntface Magazine, a zine dedicated to bringing Bluntface artists closer to the fans with in-depth interviews, production updates, and so much more; The Bluntface Radio Show, an internet based radio program that showcases Bluntface artists and pioneering artists who influenced BFR artists and bands; Innovative merch, live showcases, interactive on-line events, full service production, Live DVDs, Vinyl Releases, guest session musicians, and so much more. 2017 is a new beginning for Bluntface Records, Otto, Haniel, and all of the Bluntface artists. Expect new releases this year from Krebs, Isolated Antagonist, Markradonn, Skin Drone, and Haniel’s new Black Metal venture Pontifex, a new-generation-of-metal-meets-oldschool-black-metal band that features concept driven lyrics that delve deep into existential darkness and haunting atmospheric symphonic passages.
