Official Release Date: May 3, 2024 - FREYR, the Black Metal band founded by sole member Vultus Spiritus in Joinville, SC, releases its latest album, “The Death Embracing.” We are seeking reviews, interviews, and radio promotion to disseminate this work, which promises to make a mark on the global Black Metal scene.
About the Album “The Death Embracing”:
The album "The Death Embracing" marks a new chapter in the solo Black Metal project FREYR. Composed from September 2023, this work represents a monumental effort by the band's sole member, Vultus Spiritus. All instrument and vocal recordings were performed by him, with special guest contributions that enriched the final result:
“Incriadvs” (Sardonic Impious and Afasia) on track 6, “In The Fallen Earth,” and the tribute “A Honra da Batalha.”
D'Sanguinae on the choruses of track 5, “Dark Pyre of Death.”
Willian (Diabolical Funeral) with backing vocals on track 3, “They Only Hear The Silence,” and track 7, “Cold Fire Death.”
Recorded at Valhalla Studio by Vultus Spiritus, the album was mixed and mastered in collaboration with producer Claudino da Silva Nascimento, also at Valhalla Studio. The cover art was created by Vultus Spiritus, reflecting the dark and introspective essence of the music.
Themes and Lyrics:
The album consists of 9 tracks, including 8 original songs and a tribute to the band Diabolical Funeral, with a version of “A Honra da Batalha.” The lyrics address themes of anti-cosmic gnosis, divine indifference to human suffering, and the quest for spiritual liberation. The lyrical depth combines with the sonic intensity, offering a unique experience in the Black Metal scene.

About the Band FREYR:
Founded in 2022 by Vultus Spiritus in Joinville, SC, FREYR explores themes of anti-cosmic gnosis, inspired by various pagan cultures. The project seeks to convey ancestral wisdom, aiming for spiritual liberation through a unique approach to Black Metal.
As a one-man band, FREYR combines the cold sound of Black Metal with pagan instruments and vocals of anguish and pain. In 2023, the band released three significant works: the single “The Land of the Spirit,” the EP “The Secret Forest,” and the album “Ancient Pagan Flame,” solidifying its presence in the global Black Metal scene.
