Legendary rock frontman Chris Cornell was found dead inside of his hotel room in Detroit on May 17. His death is being suspected as a suicide, Detroit news outlet 4 WDIV Detroit reported.
Cornell, 52, was found dead at the MGM Grand Hotel in Detroit just hours after playing a sold-out show with at the Fox Theatre.
He’s best known for his time as the lead singer of Soundgarden, and later Audioslave and was on tour with the former at the time of his death. He, along with Nirvana’s Kurt Cobain and Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder, were the pioneers of the Seattle-based grunge rock scene in the 1990s.
Through his lifetime, he amassed many musical accomplishments. Alongside him for the past 13 years was his wife, Vicky Karayiannis.
