Metallica’s New Album Will Break The Rules Once Again, Metalliquarantine?

Metallica’s iconic drummer Lars Ulrich spoke in the recent interview with Salesforce and revealed what comes next for Metallica. According to Lars, Metallica will break the whole rules with their new album and the reason is simple: It will be the first big metal album created online.

They will not even gather together in the same room, just keep in touch with online chats and applications.

As you might remember, Metallica released the latest album of the band in 2016, ‘Hardwired… to Self-Destruct,’ after six years of releasing ‘Death Magnetic.’ Since then, the fans are wondering if they could make a new album in 2020.

In the conversation, Lars gave a hint about will be any ‘Metallica quarantine record,’ and explained which circumstances could affect this project. He stated that if self-quarantine gets longer than six months, there is a high chance to make it.

Furthermore, Lars stated that the band members are meeting from their homes by using an application and discussing how they will make the new album online. Also, Lars said that every member of the band is excited about this project.

Additionally, he mentioned the uncertainties because of the coronavirus and can’t tell if they are going to meet in a few months to make music. Because of that, they are currently trying to be more creative to be ready when they decided to record a new album.

Here is what Lars Ulrich said:

“…I can guarantee there are thousands of conversations right now, how do we make records? How do we make filmed entertainment? How do we make art? How do we share it with this new paradigm that’s happening? What can it look like on the other side of the new normal?

Even if you bring it into our world, the people that make all the software and all the stuff that all use to record are sitting right now trying to figure out how Lars and James and Kirk and Rob can make a Metallica record from four different locations in four different states.”

Lars continued:

“And that’s something that we’re obviously circling and very excited about… A lot of that will, obviously, have to do with how long stay-at-home orders stay in place. A lot of that will have to do with if there’s a second wave of the virus. Who knows what our world will look like six months from now?

But, obviously, the one thing that you can depend on with creative people, for better or worse, is that they can’t sit still for very long. And I can tell you that on these weekly Metallica Zoom sessions, we are talking about how we can just be a band again…”

Lars added:

“…But at its core essence is just four guys in a room, or connected via Zoom, making music together. And I can tell you that all four of us are really excited about what that could look like.

So, will there be a Metallicaquarantine record? I can’t tell you, because, again, I don’t know how long the quarantine will last. But if you and I and the rest of the world are sitting here six months from now or a year from now, I’d say there’s a very good chance.”
