The CDC has warned that even if you’re asymptomatic, you may be carrying, and are therefore cable of spreading, COVID-19. Michael Osterholm, director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy at the University of Minnesota, recently told CNN that “We now know that asymptomatic transmission likely [plays] an important role in spreading this virus,” adding that asymptomatic infection “surely can fuel a pandemic like this in a way that’s going to make it very difficult to control.”
NBC’s Miami affiliate reports that Barnes’ current home state of Florida has reported more than 500 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with ten deaths to date.
