JASON MOMOA Sings PANTERA's 'This Love' With PHILIP ANSELMO

Jason Momoa , the hulking star of the superhero film "Aquaman" , joined PHILIP H. ANSELMO & THE ILLEGALS on stage last night (Saturday, November 30) at the Forum in Inglewood, California to perform the PANTERA classic "This Love" .

After the concert, the Hawaiian-born actor, who is perhaps best-known for his role as Khal Drogo in HBO fantasy epic "Game Of Thrones" , took to his Instagram to post a few photos and video clips (see below) of him hanging out backstage with Philip Anselmo as well as some of the show's other performers and attendees, including members of SLAYER , PRIMUS , ANTHRAX and METALLICA .

Momoa wrote in an accompanying message: "going on stage and yelling love love LOVE with my baby boy and PANTERA . aka @philiphanselmo and the illegals my mind was blown FUCKIN BLOWN. i was living out my childhood dreams. i am so thankful for those moments shared with dear friends and my babies.

"it's crazy to think of SLAYER and ANTHRAX and METALLICA as ohana but they are love u guys. and to finally meet Les Claypool was legendary PRIMUS . RHCP AND RAGE was what i grew up on skateboarding and DROGO wouldn't exist if there wasn't @panteraofficial love ya phil. i've trained and bleed and fought my way to where i am. listening to these legends mahalo nui for your music and endless inspiration.

" SLAYER s last show on tour. what a fucking night. love you @garyholt_official @tomarayaofficial paul and kerry @slayerbandofficial mahalo for having da momoas. babies i hope you remember these moments with your papa forever back to work. aloha j"

Momoa previously said that he listened to a lot of PANTERA , METALLICA and MUDVAYNE to get himself into the right frame of mind for playing a warrior like Conan in Marcus Nispel 's remake of the classic Arnold Schwarzenegger action adventure "Conan The Barbarian" . More recently, he tapped vocalist Oli Peters of the Canadian death metal band ARCHSPIRE to coach him on how to mimic his distinct vocal style for the early troop rallying scene in the Apple TV+ sci-fi series "See" .

Last year, Momoa revealed that METALLICA and TOOL served as inspiration for his character in "Aquaman" , telling Metal Hammer in an interview: " Aquaman 's pretty metal. I know no one thinks that, but Aquaman 's metal."

He singled out METALLICA 's debut album, "Kill 'Em All" , and the TOOL song "Ticks And Leeches" as two pieces of music that influenced his portrayal of Arthur Curry 's alter-ego.
