Vio-lence /ex- Machine Head guitarist Phil Demmel apparently has a new supergroup in the works that will include Overkill vocalist Bobby “Blitz” Ellsworth and Metal Allegiance ‘s Mike Portnoy and Mike Menghi . Portnoy of course also rose to fame with Dream Theater and more recently has been performing with The Winery Dogs .
Both Demmel and Ellsworth have notably performed with Metal Allegiance in the past. Commenting earlier today, August 05th, on some recent studio sessions at Trident Studios with Juan Urteaga ( Machine Head , Cattle Decapitation ), Demmel briefly teased the new project via his Instagram :
“10 songs tracked all rhythms last Friday on this BadAss. I am DIGGING the fixed bridge on the Snow White Demmelition Fury!! I lived on the Floyd for so long but the tidesachangin’!! Thanks @officialjacksonguitars this is a production model that just killed it! Soon to be announced Project with Portnoy/Blitz/Menghi coming soon…….”
