It seems that pop star Justin Bieber is himself a fan of Tool , though some may dispute his choice of prefered material. Bieber shared the following lyrics for the band’s song “ The Pot ” on his Instagram story today, July 11th, and then asked his fans about the track by way of the lyrics. He also shared footage of the song being played in a vehicle while driving around:

While the trend of pop stars wearing metal shirts and co-opting metal culture became commonplace, this particular interaction would suggest that Bieber is a fan of at least one of the band’s tracks. Interestingly, last year during one of Tool ‘s music clinics, the band’s guitarist Adam Jones had seemingly joked that he had been listening to Justin Bieber ‘s music when asked what had been influencing him lately.

Bieber himself has previously had a seemingly rocky relationship with another rock/metal outfit who found fame in the 90s, with himself and Marilyn Manson having gone from hanging out together to publicly feuding.

Tool ‘s long-awaited follow-up to 2006’s “ 10,000 Days ” is presently set to arrive in stores on August 30th.
