The metal music scene in Kansas City is an ever growing beast, partly thanks to resident band; In the Shadow. Formed in 2008, they have been quickly advancing musically and pummeling area clubs with their monsterous sound. Inspired by the New Wave of American Metal, their sound contains several different elements such as technical and heavy-groove guitar riffs, blood curdling screams along with melodic singing vocals, fearless pounding drums with a unique energy, and killer bass rythms, these all driven with a brutal emotion that you can feel. The band likes to offer something for anybody with interest in rock or metal music, having songs being both beautiful and bone crunching.
