Coming in with a pulverizing 12,770 votes, New Dilemma wins the Battle of the Bands on MDR and is now the band of the month for February 2019!

New Dilemma came together in the early 2000’s, After a long hiatus beyond their control they have continued to pave their own path. They have played hundreds of shows and headlined main venues such as the House of Blues (Orlando), The Legendary Station, and many other popular venues while touring the East. The band has released their EP Tongue As A Weapon, and are making waves across the music scene. New Dilemma is a high energy modern rock band from central Florida, with heavy percussion and driving guitars. Lyrics top it off with heart-on-the-sleeve writing that capture the emotion of coming from the dark to the light after life’s tragedies. ND has a strong message against the opioid epidemic in this country. This band plays with heart, which is captured in each and every live performance. "It's all about the fans." -Joey Factor

Joey Factor - Lead Singer

From the early age of 5, Joey knew that he wanted to be performing on stage, singing front & center, from Choir to musicals! At 15 years of age things began to change, as he found the sound of the legendary punk rock group, Green Day; which was the first music ever played by the original, up and coming, band Hybrid. As front man for Hybrid, the band had good success heading venues like the House Of Blues Orlando & winning battle of the bands at the Legendary Station. Joey is looking forward to getting back on stage & connecting with the fans all over the globe! His personal bands of inspiration consist of Papa Roach, Linkin Park, Breaking Benjamin, Limp Bizkit, Pearl Jam, Seether, & many more. " When darkness finds you is when you find the light"

Paul Duell - Guitar

Back in 1984, when Paul first heard Twisted Sister’s “We’re Not Gonna Take It” he was instantly hooked on rock n roll. It wasn’t long after that he would dream of becoming a guitarist and a musician someday. That dream started in 1998 with his first band, I’m Just a Number; that band would be short lived, but it only opened more doors & it made him strive to be a better musician and a songwriter. Through his music career Paul has not only been in a number of bands, been a musical manager and coordinated charity music festivals. Paul has written over 5 albums of music, over 50 solo songs and has played in various side projects throughout the years. Paul’s influences are Mudvayne, Limp Bizkit, Nirvana, Ministry, Nine Inch Nails, Deftones, Korn, August Burns Red, Bring Me the Horizon, Demon Hunter, Slipknot, Coal Chamber, Sevendust, Linkin Park and Soulfly.

Brent Donnelly - percussion

Brent's love for drums started when he was in his teens! He became roommates with Joey's cousin who had a drum set & the rest is history. Being the self-taught, original drummer for Hybrid, he played many big venues, as the band was on the rise, such as House of Blues in Orlando & winning battle of the bands at the Legendary Station. Brent always knew this is what he wanted to do with his talents! Brent's musical influence comes from many bands, but some of his favorites include Tool, Lamb of God, Dave Matthews, The Acacia Strain, (Older) Breaking Benjamin, Sepultura, Slipknot & the forever life changing music of the one and only Nirvana!
"If you play the music they will come"

Chris fanning - Bass

Chris Fanning began his musical training at the age of 10 when he found his dad's left handed guitar and reversed the string. Dad showed him how to play You Really Got Me by the Kinks and after that Chris was hooked. Fast forward a few years and Chris discovered Van Halen on MTV (when they actually played music videos). Amazed by the stage presence of the band Chris knew that's what he ultimately wanted to do. When Chris was in Jr High he was a drummer in the school jazz band, his teacher knew he played some guitar and had the idea of putting a bass guitar in his hand. Chris took to the bass immediately and now it is his instrument of choice. Chris' influences include Van Halen, Iron Maiden, Motley Crue, Queensryche, Spinal Tap, Ozzy Osborne, Sammy Hagar, and many others. Chris has 2 full length CDs released on an independent label with his side project Halitosis, and has recently recorded an EP “Live in Houston” while on tour as direct support opening for D.R.I. on their Gulf Coast tour as a member of Toxic Shock. Chris has also been known to hug random strangers for no reason at all.
