ROCK IN RIO 2019: SUNSET - SLAYER AND ANTHRAX ARE PRESENTED ON THE METAL DAY
Torture Squad and Claustrophobia show featuring Chuck Billy and Nervosa band complete stage attractions
Rock in Rio is the biggest music and entertainment event in the world. Created in 1985, it was born to give voice to a youth and unite people, of different races and creeds, in peace and harmony through music. After 33 years, the event is a relevant part of the history of world music and a communication platform that amplifies discourses and uses the power of its brand as a driving force to achieve its commitment to building a better world.
The production of Rock in Rio announced the bands Slayer and Anthrax, where they perform on October 4, 2019, night dedicated to the metal. The shows will roll on Sunset Stage, which will still have the Nervosa, Claustrophobia and Torture Squad openings. Chuck Billy, Testament vocalist, will be the guest artist at the Brazil show.
On the same date, the World Stage will have the groups already announced Iron Maiden, Scorpions, Megadeth and Sepultura.
Torture Squad will reach its 30th birthday in 2019 in style. The band from the south of São Paulo, which had its first formation in 1989, has the current lineup composed by Mayara "Undead" Puertas (vocals), Amilcar Christófaro (drums), Castor (bass and vocals) and Rene Simionato (Guitatta) . The latest work Far Beyond Existence (2017) is Torture Squade's eighth studio album featuring songs like Do not Cross My Path, Steady Hands and Hero For The Ages. The band recently celebrated the 20th anniversary of the debut album Shivering (1998), and also 10 years since the iconic album Hellbound (2008) released in Brazil and Europe.
