NASHVILLE, TN — What began as a studio project during the uncertainty of the 2020 pandemic has evolved into something far more enduring. Middle Tennessee rockers Summon The Moon are returning to where their journey began with the release of Gemini Ascension (The Special Edition) , released August 26, 2026.
Originally released in 2021, Gemini Ascension was the first full-length album from Summon The Moon. What started as a creative outlet quickly generated enough interest in future recordings and live performances to transform the project into an ongoing band. Now, Summon The Moon are revisiting that foundational release and giving it a completely renewed presentation.
Rather than simply reissuing the original album, Gemini Ascension (The Special Edition) features new recordings, a new mix, and a new master , bringing fresh life and renewed energy to the songs that established the band's identity.
“Gemini Ascension (The Special Edition) returns to where it all began, as Summon The Moon revisits their very first album with new recordings, a new mix, and a new master.”
At the core of Summon The Moon are Brandon Bell (vocals/guitar), Dale Sheppard (lead guitar), Chad Grant (bass guitar), and Danny Bell (drums/vocals) . Together, the group delivers a hard-hitting combination of aggressive guitar work, driving rhythms, memorable melodies, and emotionally charged songwriting.
Since the band's beginnings, Summon The Moon have released three full-length studio albums , featuring several talented players from the Middle Tennessee area. While the lineup has evolved over the years, the band's commitment to heavy music and strong songwriting has remained constant.
With influences ranging from classic hard rock and heavy metal to darker alternative and modern metal, Summon The Moon occupy a space where crushing guitars and powerful rhythms meet catchy, emotionally driven hooks .
Fans of Clutch , Alice In Chains , and Memphis May Fire will find plenty to sink their teeth into, but Summon The Moon bring their own distinctly Middle Tennessee flavor to the mix.
Gemini Ascension (The Special Edition) is ultimately a return to the band's roots, but it is anything but a trip backward. By rebuilding the album through new recordings, a new mix, and a new master, Summon The Moon have taken the record that started their journey and given it the sound and energy it deserves.
