Cambridge, UK – UK modern alternative/progressive metal force Far From Refuge are preparing to unleash their highly anticipated new full-length album Pillars of Language on June 26, 2026.
Blending progressive metal, metalcore, alternative metal, and melodic death metal into a sound that is both technically intricate and emotionally charged, Far From Refuge continue to evolve while carving out their own identity in the UK heavy music scene. Known for balancing crushing heaviness with soaring melodic hooks and immersive thematic storytelling, the band has spent nearly a decade building momentum through explosive live performances and ambitious songwriting.
To mark the announcement, the band has released the powerful new single “Tempest,” offering fans another glimpse into the expansive sonic world of Pillars of Language .
“Tempest is the soundtrack to the emotional storm inside each of us,” says the band. “Reminiscing on what makes us who we are, of love found and lost, and hope.”
The new album follows a growing catalog of acclaimed releases including the crushing False Flag EP (2024), featuring standout tracks “Ghost of Eros” and “Whitemane,” as well as their self-titled debut EP released in 2019. The band has also gained recognition for singles such as “Crystal Cove,” “Neon Sleeper,” “Satellite,” and “Starseeker.”
Three-time winners at the NMG Awards in the Best Artist: Rock/Heavy categories, Far From Refuge have become known for delivering intense, high-energy performances alongside emotionally resonant songwriting that connects with fans across multiple corners of heavy music.

“Pillars of Language is a culminating amalgamation of many things we love, different kinds of music, fantasy, gaming, sci-fi (The Expanse in particular), born in inspiration and nurtured in love,” the band explains. “It’s as varied as we are, and we hope it takes you on many journeys as it did us.”
The album was produced, mixed, and mastered by Oz Craggs at Hidden Track Studios, with artwork created by True Spilt Milk.
