Los Angeles, CA – Rising from the filth and fury of the West Coast underground, Choke Me are set to drop their latest sonic assault, “A Violent Phenomenon,” on May 1, 2026 via Riot Ready Records.
Blending the raw aggression of grindcore, the urgency of hardcore, and the crushing weight of metal, Choke Me deliver a no-frills, DIY-fueled attack that pulls zero punches. Helmed by songwriter, guitarist, and frontman Wesley Richards, the band has carved out a reputation in the LA underground for their unfiltered intensity and refusal to play it safe.
A Violent Phenomenon is exactly what the title promises. Relentless, pissed off, and unapologetically heavy, the release channels both personal and political rage into a barrage of punishing riffs and thought-provoking lyricism. Tackling everything from the current and historical political climate to the suffocating grip of systemic power, Choke Me aim straight for the throat.

The record was written, recorded, and mixed by Wesley Richards at Riot Ready Records, capturing the band’s raw, unfiltered energy at its source. Mastering was handled by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege, adding the final layer of sonic devastation, while artwork by Matt Worthington visually captures the chaos within.
