Davide Laugelli Unleashes New Album Out of the Nightmare!
Bologna, Italy -- Instrumental virtuoso Davide Laugelli is set to release his highly anticipated album, Out of the Nightmare, on October 24, 2023. The album promises to captivate fans of progressive and avant-garde music, with its intricate compositions and masterful electric bass performances. For fans of Goblin, Anima Morte, and Emerson, Lake & Palmer, this release is not to be missed.
About Davide Laugelli:
Davide Laugelli, originally from Lombardy, has made a name for himself in Bologna, where he has pursued most of his musical career. Currently the bassist for several bands including Disease Illusion, Heller Schein, XXII Arcana, Legion Massacre, The Burning Dogma, Darisam, and 373°K, Laugelli has also collaborated live with MVP, Adoom, and Electrocution. His unique approach to music features an instrumental concept for two basses (fretted and fretless) and drums.
In 2017, Laugelli released Soundtrack of a Nightmare, an instrumental work imagining a hypothetical nightmare soundtrack. Originally intended as a studio project, the album's success led to a tour spanning the UK, Hungary, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, and a special date in Italy. After a hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Laugelli returned to the stage in 2022 at the Grave Party in Gaggiano and continued with performances in Hungary and Italy in 2023.
Out of the Nightmare features exceptional guest musicians, including Timo Tolkki (Stratovarius, Revolution Renaissance, Timo Tolkki's Avalon), Marco Bertoni (Confusional Quartet), and Michele Panepinto (Gli Atroci, Inner Vitriol). The single "Blind Eyes of the Burning Dogma" has already made waves, reaching second place on Spotify's Luxembourg charts and maintaining a top position for five days.
Upcoming Tour:
Following the album release, Laugelli will embark on a tour visiting Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, and Montenegro. In March 2024, he will co-headline the Balkan Metal Festival in Timisoara with the Albanian band Morgu, performing in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia, and Romania.
Collaborations and Performances:
In addition to his tour, Laugelli will collaborate with novelist Roberto Carboni in the spring to provide live musical accompaniment to Carboni's noir and gothic readings. This summer and autumn, Laugelli plans to perform in various Italian theaters, bringing his captivating instrumental prowess to a wider audience.
