ZETAR Opens the Gateway to the Spectral Realm with New Sci-Fi Black/Death Metal Assault

Release Title: Gateway to the Spectral Realm
Release Date: TBA
Genre: Sci-Fi Black/Death Metal
For Fans Of: Early Samael, Nocturnus, Immortal
Artist: ZETAR

From the cold void of deep space emerges ZETAR , returning with their most ambitious and ferocious release to date, Gateway to the Spectral Realm . Fueled by cosmic horror, retro-futuristic atmosphere, and unrelenting extreme metal violence, the album stands as a brutal evolution of the band’s sound and vision.

Formed in 2019 by Ryan Georgi as a solo project designed to channel transmissions from the depths of infinite space, ZETAR quickly evolved into a full-band international collaboration. With the addition of vocalist DM and drummer David Lanas , the project unleashed its debut full-length Devouring Darkness in 2021 via Spirit Coffin Publishing. The album earned strong acclaim in the underground and featured stunning artwork by legendary fantasy artist Bruce Pennington , cementing ZETAR as a rising force in sci-fi infused extreme metal.

After years of refining their sonic arsenal, ZETAR returns reconfigured and fully weaponized. Gateway to the Spectral Realm introduces Polish drummer Krzysztof Klingbein behind the kit and Nicolas Muller on lead guitar, pushing the band into darker, more complex, and unapologetically aggressive territory. Expect blast-driven mayhem, searing blackened riffs, punishing death metal weight, and ominous 80s-inspired synths colliding into a relentless cosmic barrage slated for release in 2026.

“With the addition of Krzysztof Klingbein and Nicolas Muller, Gateway to the Spectral Realm took shape out of the formless darkness, slowly crafting and sculpting itself into existence,” the band states. “The injection of creativity from this new blood pushed the album into frontiers previously unexplored. Expect a significant leap in songwriting, layered vocals, and intertwining synth lines locked in combat with martial riffs, blazing leads, and bass that prowls and punches.”

Lyrically, Gateway to the Spectral Realm dives headfirst into classic science fiction horror, exploring survival stripped of ethics and restraint. Augmented warlords, disease-ridden scavengers, parasitic immortals, and sentient machines populate a universe where domination sustains life and annihilation fuels progress. Flesh becomes currency, consciousness is weaponized, and evolution breeds monstrosity instead of salvation. Each track confronts the cost of power when morality is abandoned and violence becomes transcendence.

The album’s striking cover art and reimagined ZETAR logo were created by Alex Shadrin of Nether Temple Design , visually capturing the album’s grim, otherworldly essence.
