The album’s drums were recorded by John Longstreth of Origin , who not only captured the intensity of the tracks but also contributed to the writing process after Philippe gave him full creative freedom over the drum parts.

For fans of Suffocation, Gojira, and daring modern death metal , this album delivers a uniquely intense listening experience, centered on Philippe’s virtuosic double-guitar mastery. After a life-altering car accident left him with an osteophyte on his picking hand, Philippe faced the monumental challenge of relearning guitar left-handed . With guidance from guitar legend Michael Angelo Batio and wielding his first double-neck guitar, he rebuilt his sound from the ground up.

“Le Chemin Du Gaucher” is the culmination of that journey—an explosive solo album blending intricate guitar work, relentless rhythms, guttural vocals, and the precision and brutality only a double-guitar setup can achieve.

While Philippe Drouin Obvurt focuses on solo compositions, the full Obvurt band—featuring Enzo and Mitch —will incorporate select tracks live in upcoming shows, showcasing the fusion of left-handed technique and double-guitar complexity.
