ARCANUM SANCTUM Launch Into a New Era with Upcoming EP PAX — A Soviet Sci-Fi-Inspired Melodic Death Metal Odyssey

Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Russia — October 2025 — Russian melodic death metal visionaries ARCANUM SANCTUM are once again defying expectations, blending cosmic storytelling, Soviet science fiction nostalgia, and sharp-edged musicianship into their forthcoming EP, PAX — set for release on January 16, 2026 .

Following the release of the first single “A Different Form of Life” on September 12, the band is gearing up to unleash the second chapter, “Wake Up,” on October 24, 2025 , with a third single “Resistance” slated for December 5, 2025 . The EP will conclude with the final track, “Song of Hope,” completing a sonic voyage that explores humanity’s search for meaning and peace in an ever-changing universe.

A New Frontier in Melodic Death Metal

Since their formation in 2004, ARCANUM SANCTUM have carved a unique path in the Russian metal underground. Known for merging melodic death metal with the atmospheric charm of Soviet-era sci-fi soundtracks , their music stands apart for its cinematic scope and emotional intensity.

After earning international acclaim with their 2020 full-length Ad Astra — mixed and mastered by none other than Dan Swanö (Edge of Sanity, Bloodbath) — the band now expands their horizons even further. The upcoming PAX EP continues their cosmic exploration, offering an evolved sound layered with lush keyboard arrangements, soaring melodies, and the commanding growls of Ivan Beschastny .

Guitarist and founding member Vadim Nalivaiko describes PAX as “a reflection on what humanity could become — and what it might already be — seen through the lens of Soviet science fiction and the infinite possibilities of space.”
