RICHMOND, VA — October 1, 2025 — The stage is set, the riffs are thunderous, and the tour is officially underway. Richmond’s sludge ’n’ roll power duo THUNDERCHIEF launched their 2025 U.S. tour tonight in Big Stone Gap, VA , unleashing their signature aural onslaught on eager fans and setting the tone for 30+ cities to come.

Guitarist/vocalist Rik Surly and drummer Erik Larson have become a force to be reckoned with, channeling decades of underground pedigree into crushing performances. Armed with their acclaimed full-length Synanthrope and the pandemic-era covers release Dekk Meg… , the duo brings a no-compromise, genre-defying heaviness to every stage they step on.

Since forming in 2006, THUNDERCHIEF has drawn from legendary acts including Alabama Thunderpussy, Avail, Birds of Prey, Satan’s Satyrs, Morne, and Parasytic — forging a live experience that is raw, relentless, and unmissable.
