Melbourne’s progressive fusion jazz thrash metal innovators Alarum are set to perform at the massive Necrosonic Festival on Saturday, August 23rd at Mansfield Tavern, sharing the bill with Portal, ABRAMELIN, BØLZER, Witchgrinder , and over two dozen more of the heaviest acts in the scene. With 30 bands across 3 stages for 12 hours of pure metal , Necrosonic is shaping up to be one of the year’s most unmissable events.

The announcement comes hot on the heels of Alarum’s latest release, Recontinue — a masterclass in genre-bending technicality, blending progressive metal, jazz fusion, and thrash into a sound that’s as aggressive as it is sophisticated. Over three decades in, Alarum continue to push boundaries with rapid tempo changes, intricate guitar work, and fearless musical exploration, solidifying their place as one of the most innovative and technically skilled metal bands worldwide.
