Methane Confirmed for Finland’s Legendary Speed Metal Party 2025

Swedish thrash metal powerhouse Methane has officially been confirmed to perform at Speed Metal Party 2025 , taking place on Saturday, August 16th in Tampere, Finland . Known for their aggressive live energy and heavy-hitting riffs, Methane will join a stacked lineup featuring German thrash legends Tankard , Finnish veterans Prestige , and the crushing force of Dethrone and Kovaa Rasvaa .

Held at Tavara-asema , Speed Metal Party is no ordinary festival—it’s a cornerstone of Finland’s underground scene with roots dating back to the late 1980s. Born from the pure DIY spirit of working-class youth who built their own stage when the mainstream rejected thrash, the fest has grown into a revered institution for metal purists.

“To play a fest with this much history and share a stage with bands like Tankard and Prestige is a fucking honor,” says Tim Scott , frontman of Methane. “That DIY spirit, fighting for your scene... that’s what thrash is all about. Tampere, we’re coming to tear the roof off the place! See you in the pit!”

This show is part of Methane’s 2025 summer festival run, which also includes appearances at Mangelfest (Stockholm) , Metal Mayhem (Mariehamn) , Bomberfest (Motala) , and Rockkwälln (Dala-Floda) .
