Death/Thrash Metal Inferno from Reunion Island’s Rising Metal Force

Reunion Island, France – June 20, 2025 – Emerging from the volcanic depths of Reunion Island, KALDEIRA returns with their blistering new single “Metatron” , marking a powerful evolution for the band formerly known as The Hill Is Burning. Known for their visceral blend of death and thrash metal, KALDEIRA’s latest offering ignites the scene with relentless riffs, crushing rhythms, and a metaphysical lyrical journey.

“Metatron” is the harbinger of KALDEIRA’s upcoming album “Fournaise” , set for release October 4, 2025, via Monstre Sonore Records. Recorded at Sébastien Cahmi’s Artmusic Studio in Taradeau, France—renowned for his work with Akiavel, Impureza, and ACOD—the single explores the cosmic forces shaping the universe through a savage metal lens. The track’s thunderous production and high-velocity assault push the band’s sound into new territories of intensity and precision.

KALDEIRA was born in 2019 on Reunion Island, initially blazing through the underground as The Hill Is Burning with a sound forged from raw death metal rage infused with local rhythmic influences. With influences ranging from Sepultura (notably Schizo , Beneath , Arise ), Immolation , Morbid Angel , and Aborted , the band crafts a unique style rooted in primal fire and modern brutality.

In April 2025, embracing their renewed vision and lineup, the band adopted the name KALDEIRA —a moniker reflecting both their island heritage and fiery rebirth. Their new direction is marked by tighter songwriting, faster tempos, and an uncompromising aggression that culminates in “Fournaise” , a 13-track testament to their evolved sound and artistic ambition.

The album artwork, crafted by acclaimed artist Pär Olofsson (Aborted, Exodus, Immolation), visually captures the elemental fury and cosmic themes central to KALDEIRA’s music.

KALDEIRA is set to bring their intense, visceral death/thrash metal to stages across 2026, building on the momentum from glowing reviews and their expanding fanbase in the national and international metal community.
