Pittsburgh deathcore juggernauts Signs Of The Swarm are pulling no punches in 2025, launching a brutal new chapter with their latest single, “Clouded Retinas,” featuring Will Ramos of Lorna Shore . Dropped just days before the band embarks on a massive European festival tour, the track arrives alongside a gripping visualizer, setting the stage for what promises to be a summer of sonic annihilation.
Watch the visualizer now:
Frontman David Simonich reveals a deeply personal inspiration behind “Clouded Retinas,” which reflects his battle with vision loss and a diagnosis of Stargardt disease. The lyrics are structured as a raw internal dialogue, with Ramos joining not just to deliver a blistering guest performance, but to help raise awareness around degenerative diseases and disability.
“With Will holding it down for today's deathcore, I tried to showcase my influences from Nate Johnson and Vincent Bennett because the song feels modern yet nostalgic at the same time,” Simonich explains.
“Clouded Retinas” is the latest preview of the band’s highly anticipated sixth studio album, To Rid Myself of Truth , dropping August 22nd via Century Media Records . Reuniting with acclaimed producer Josh Schroeder (Lorna Shore, King 810), the band expands their sonic brutality, pulling in influences from titans like Meshuggah , Gojira , and Fear Factory .
The album promises serrated edges and unrelenting aggression, featuring notable guest spots from Phil Bozeman (Whitechapel), Jack Murray (156/Silence), and Johnny Crowder (Prison, ex-Dark Sermon). Pre-orders are available now: https://SignsOfTheSwarm.lnk.to/ToRidMyselfOfTruth-AlbumPR
