About Primitive Torture Methods

Primitive Torture Methods compiles 34 tracks of pure goregrind, spanning Saprogenous’ early days with the Yimpsed, Festering In Putrid Spoilage, and Demented Excrements demos, as well as their latest Festering In Putrid Spoilage. Each track in this relentless compilation captures the gritty, unfiltered sound of a band that has remained dedicated to the underground goregrind scene. From guttural vocals and distorted guitar riffs to frenzied drumming, every song on this compilation embodies the raw, horror-inspired atmosphere that has defined Saprogenous since 2018.

Recording and Production

The tracks on Primitive Torture Methods were recorded and engineered by Ted Batt and David Walker, with additional vocal tracks handled by Ryan Wayside and Jonathan Buzbee. The result is a lo-fi, dungeon-recorded collection that reflects the band’s thematic embrace of horror, decay, and all things macabre.

Band Bio

Saprogenous, a three-piece brutal death metal and goregrind outfit, was born in Wichita, Kansas, in 2018. Inspired by Z-grade horror films, the band has one mission: to infect the world with their over-the-top, visceral sound. The lineup features Ted Batt on vocals and guitar, Felicia Tamer on bass and vocals, and AJ Bergstrom on drums. Known for their raw live shows and unapologetically graphic themes, Saprogenous has shared the stage with underground legends like Deterioration and is set to perform at the 2024 Arkansas Death Fest.
