FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Vajra Premieres Haunting New Video “Truth Has Many Lies” Exclusively on Revolver Magazine’s Website
NYC-based dark rockers Vajra have officially unveiled the music video for their powerful new single, "Truth Has Many Lies," with an exclusive world premiere on Revolver Magazine’s heavily trafficked website. Revolver praised the video, writing, “Office culture is not for everyone, that much is sure. With that in mind, New York dark rockers Vajra are artistically rallying against a soul-sucking 9-to-5 lifestyle through the new music video for their recent single ‘Truth Has Many Lies.’”
The music video, written, produced, and edited by the band, was created in collaboration with acclaimed photographer and director Tas Limur (known for his work with TOOL, Volto, and Sleepytime Gorilla Museum). In the video, Vajra’s vocalist Annamaria Pinna dispassionately navigates the daily grind of an office worker—depicting a soul-crushing commute and monotonous workday that metaphorically chains her to her desk. The visuals strike a deep chord, blending themes of oppression with the feeling of entrapment many experience in the corporate world.
Drawing from her own life experiences, Pinna shared the personal inspiration behind the video:
“Lured by the prestige and high salary of a corporate job in the Big Apple, I took it, but almost immediately, I felt my insides were rotting. Lack of fresh air, and the daily hum-drum routine severely depressed me. I had to take some difficult looks in the mirror, gather up some courage, and do what I felt was right for me. I walked out, and I moved to India. There, I was forced to confront my assumptions about myself, the world around me, and to uncover my truth, reclaiming pieces of myself in foreign land.”
The single, released via Thunder Cult Records, is a dark and juddering track with eerie, Evanescence-esque melodies layered beneath Pinna’s evocative vibrato. "Truth Has Many Lies" follows Vajra’s critically acclaimed 2023 cover of Pat Benatar’s "Love Is A Battlefield" and continues to showcase their fusion of alternative, progressive, and Eastern musical influences.
