Band name and album title: Too much said the Nature with From the Cellar
Genre: Alternative/Death Metal
Release date and label: They released the album independently on August 12th, 2023.
Other releases from the band: I guess I missed another EP because after three of them this is now their debut album.
How I got to know the band: As with the extended player Red Part 1 , Metal Devastation Radio approached me to see if I would write something about this album. Since I like following the paths of bands, that wasn't up for debate, so let's listen to what they sound like in full:
How do I find the record: Metal Devastation Radio doesn't really agree on the genre name. If the penultimate EP was introduced to me as Blackend Death, they say Alternative/Death Metal about this record. I'll leave Metal Archives out with their name Melodic Black Metal because the EP Gray Part 2 isn't even listed there. So from my point of view there was clearly Death Metal, although the synths and the clear female voice fit into Alternative Metal and gave the album a certain spice.
They play a really heavy death metal style, which also fits the dark growls. The melodic synth passages break it up a bit, but don't soften the harshness in any way. In some songs you can also hear a bit of Black Metal, but it's more at the beginning when they start with simple, monotonous riffs, but then it usually continues with the finest death.
I've already picked CELLAR as a favorite and I don't find anything bad about the song either. The shooting is repeatedly interrupted by quiet passages, like a short breath, before the shooting continues. Here the synthesizer even rises above the frenzy, which I find really interesting.
With FIRST PEOPLE you can guess why Metal Archives lists the band as black metal. The intro would also fit in a black metal song, but the blast that follows is clearly a death lead. A damn strong song that combines the best of several genres and is straight to the ear.
Conclusion: Yes, I've talked a lot about genres here, that could be discussed further, but we're welcome to use the comment columns for that. If you want to listen to nasty metal, whether black or death, this album is a good choice and you should give it a listen, even if it's not from this album: fullmetalmayhem
